Why do downloads say we’re running at around 900mbps but on the download tracker you see changes of 50mbps?

I’m assuming you’re conflating terms here.
Download speeds are measured in megabits per second, what your downloading is likely measuring in megabytes per second.
They’re two different units. There are 8 bits in a byte so that’s likely the difference you’re seeing
