why do flies fly around in circles aimlessly?

Every time they come inside, they fly around in circles like they’re panicky and lost. Why is that? Also, why do they keep coming back when we shoo them away?

It’s how they survey the environment, they’re sensing moving objects that release co2. They don’t have very good sensory organs we couldn’t even call them organs so they just run into shit. Benefit of having little mass and an exoskeleton is you can basically stub your toe and barely feel it.

Big moving objects that release Carbon molecules = good place to lay eggs and/or eat from… shoeing them away may make it worse.
