Why do flies fly in small circles right in the centre of the room

In: Biology

They know they are flying straight if the sun/moon stays still as they fly. When the brightest source in the room is your light they fly in a circle around because it makes it appear still in their vision, and thus assume they are going straight.

It is a breeding swarm. You see them when riding your bike with your mouth open too. They mate/breed in the swarm.
