Why do germs spread if you wash raw chicken but not if you wash your hands?

Does it have something with soap that makes it safer? Or maybe its different germs. Although our hands touch a lot of surfaces throughout the day so they must pick up a lot of germs. And you do have to wash your hands after handing the raw chicken, so wont you risk spreading the salmonella then as well?

Soap disrupts the chemical bonds that allow bacteria, viruses and grime to stick to your hands, so when you hold them under water the ‘bad stuff’ washes away.
