Humans are incredibly social animals. Like, we are literally soaking in culture. We have evolved just as much at the tribal level as the individual level. And most of the time of that evolution, we weren’t talking to each other with 10,000 word languages. So, blushing is a great way to send non-verbal signs to other people what going on in your head.
Humans blush because of the way our blood vessels work. When we get embarrassed or excited, our blood vessels open up and the blood flows closer to the surface of our skin. This makes our skin look redder than usual.
