Icecream is intentionally made extra sweet because the cold numbs the taste buds to some extent.

Cold numbs your nerves, including those that taste. When it isn’t as cold, it doesn’t numb as much, so the taste is sharper.

More cold.. less inflammation.. less inflammation.. less nerve stimulation, less blood circulation ,adding also the shorter period for healing to normal state (Numbness). Taste is less and shorter when cold. And your brain like that to the point of brain freeze.
