Why do jails disallow touching during visit if they have already searched the visitor for contraband?

First: They search you but they don’t do a cavity search, they can’t find everything. Second: Hostages and injury could be a liability thing by the prison. They’re responsible for people, to a degree.
even if the search got everything(considering visitors generally wont warrant the need ot perform a cavity search), allowing direct contact with potentially violent inmates cna lead ot injuries and hostage situations.
An added measure of control that reinforces to the prisoner the idea that they in fact have no freedom and cannot do as they please.
