why do men get the “shivers” while they pee?

Until recently I thought the concept of the pee shiver was a universally accepted fact. However, in a recent conversation with my wife, I realized that she has never heard of this before. I have had the idea confirmed by multiple of my guy friends that have also get shivers from time to time while they pee. Someone please eli5 so I can relay the information on to my wife.

Pee is essentially a lot of hot water. If you excrete such a large volume of heat in a short amount of time your body temperature may suddenly drop a little bit. And as we all know you shiver when it’s cold.

As to why it’s mainly found in men I will make an assumption. Men are generally larger beings so there bladders I assume to be also larger. Maybe then men will excrete a larger volume of hot water while peeing than women, hence losing more heat energy hence shivering.

Just one idea, could very well be wrong. Curious to know the truth!
