Why do men lose interest in the sexual activities or anything arousal in general extremely quickly after having an orgasm? How does function of being horny work? How are genitals connected to our decision making capabilities? Why sexual release can change things this fast and this drastically?

One idea has to do with the shape of the glans of the penis. The “bell” shape, with the proximal radial lip is hypothesized to be good for removing semen from sexual competitors who got there first. With the competition semen removed and the current semen in place…if one maintained his engorged penile glans and physical enthusiasm one might remove their own semen…and with it any biological advantage. So, therefore, loss of erection and off to sleep you go.
