who doesn’t like food beer and chill time?
stand out side. good weather. large amounts of meat. fire. (sometimes booze if thats your thing) .. ya know the basic human actions from when humans began feeding themselves.
That’s an excuse to get people together and be to outside. A lot of men don’t like cooking because a lot of men are childish and think cooking is effeminate. barbecuing is seen as a masculine form of cooking, they get to pretend they’re a caveman cooking a mammoth.
it lets us play the male fantasy of being a housewife cooking over a hot stove, but for our homies and our homies get to role play as the husbands and fantasize about slapping our thick asses
As said before- meat, fire, fresh air,and usually a cold beer. Plus things just seem to taste better on the grill.
Not a scientist but I agree it’s the manifestation of our caveman brain. If I had a stone wall next to the grill- I would probably make cave drawings while my burgers were cooking.
Because one of the real pleasures in life is preparing food that you personally enjoy, but most men were raised to believe that cooking is somehow womanly. The exception is BBQ, because of the flames I guess, and so this is their only opportunity to prepare a nice meal for themselves and their friends/loved ones.
Fire is cool. And it’s usually large cuts of meat. And you can drink / bullshit while you do it
