Why do most snacks (not the healthy type, the classics – M&Ms, Hershey’s, Reese’s, Nutella etc) range between 450-500kcal per 100g? It’s never 300 or 600, is there something around this 450kcal content?

sugar is about 4 cal/gram. fat is about 9 cal/g. If you have something that is mostly sugar, but with a little fat thrown in, it’s going to be a bit more than 400 calories in 100 grams
