Why do movements in video games look so overly “smooth”?

I noticed this again recently when I was watching [this cyberpunk 2077](https://youtu.be/UjxS9ciNlII?t=33) trailer.

What is the reason for this unrealistic “smoothness” in the characters’ movements?

Surely it should be possible to add more realistic jerky, abrupt elements?

Are there techological limits or are the reasonefor not doing that artistic?

For me I think it’s because everything is choreographed. Every movement is thought out and very precise, therefore he characters seem to move more smoothly.
