why do movie producers keep a lot of secrets around a movie and not even releasing its name or anything about the movie, and make its cast and crew to sign an NDA, I mean if they’re eventually gonna release a trailer and promote the film why the secrecy?

They are building hype. And also, to make people want to see the movie. Nobody would buy tickets to go see a movie they know everything about. Think about it. Let’s say you’re a kid awaiting your birthday. Your parents tell you exactly what you will get for your birthday. The day comes, you won’t have that initial “Wow” of receiving a gift. It will be like going to the store to get your usual groceries. No wow there at all.
