Maybe it’s just me, but that makes zero sense. Your license plate is visible to literally EVERYONE when you’re driving around and even parked in your driveway. Why blur it out in pictures?

When crooks steal cars the smarter ones clone plates. Whatever car they have stolen a quick image search for make and model will give them weeks extra driving the car without being pulled over. Also cloned plates are used so you don’t get speed camera/toll fines in your rego.
