Why do people in Egypt now believe in Allah instead of their Egyptian Gods?

Because „modern“ monotheastic religions like islam and christianity are easier to learn for people while providing the same sociological stability in a community that a pantheon would. I only have 10 commandments to learn and one god to appease? Thats alot easier than a bunch of them all for different reasons.
Its also why religions are losing followers today. Its alot easier to not care about god and the teachings of the church and you get better values that help stabilize your community outside of church, when religion is so often a justification for hatred and thusly a destabilizing factor.
