Why do people say its better for batteries to keep them in the range from 20% to 80%?

I have just seen a post about battery usage and how batteries actually get weaker each loading cycle. Also, I have heard that batteries should be kept in the range from 20% to 80% since its better for their durability. It seems to me that these facts refute each other. So how are both of them true apparantly?

For the 80 to 100 range it’s because the time it takes to charge from 80 to 100, is usually not worth it (it takes longer but the battery usage from 100 to 80 is not long enough to justify that extra charge time).

For the 20 to 0 range it’s really just advising against getting the battery completely discharged. It’s ok to run it lower if you avoid it getting all the way to 0 .
