You don’t need to be rich to be clean. I can understand infrastructure issues and other government things but when you look at the rivers and streets there should be no reason they are that polluted with blatant trash like bottles wrappers plastic clothes etc.
Surely they can see what there doing? Indian people are some of the smartest people around. So why is it?

I live in an incredibly beautiful part of Guatemala. Tourism is a major source of revenue. However, people here just drop their garbage where they stand once they’re done with it. A trash can could be two feet away. No amount of education changes the mindset. As far as I can tell, the mindset is they live in shit and the only solution is for a family member to get into the USA so that money can be sent back.
