You don’t need to be rich to be clean. I can understand infrastructure issues and other government things but when you look at the rivers and streets there should be no reason they are that polluted with blatant trash like bottles wrappers plastic clothes etc.
Surely they can see what there doing? Indian people are some of the smartest people around. So why is it?

Also, keep in mind that India’s population density is 12-13x higher than the United States, and is 30th in the world for that metric. It is easily the most densely populated “large” country in the world.
With all of those people packed into tight quarters, generating trash daily, having infrastructure problems and economic issues, it’s no wonder the trash has started to pile up.
