Once, while driving my VW Golf, my attention was diverted in order to glance at my map, so I failed to notice the (empty) school bus that had stopped in front of me, because railroad crossing. A collision then happened, as my front end scraped under its rear bumper. My Golf decelerated rapidly, from about 9 mph, while the school bus barely budged.
My hood was buckled up to the windshield, and the bus bumper was slightly scratched. My insurance company later notified me that the bus driver was suing us for her back injuries. My insurance company required a report from her doctor, prior to paying her. Her claim was then abandoned.
In pursuit of a payday, this shit goes on. Every damned day.
