A bit of an oversimplification but why is it some musicians get sued for seemingly the smallest similarities in their songs to others, whilst the theme tune of the Flight of the Conchords and the opening of ‘Sing’ by Ed Sheerhan are ludicrously similar and no one calls Ed Sheehan out. A quick google search showed a few others have noticed but ultimately no one seems to care. So what are the parameters of a successful plagiarism suit and is it just not worth the time and hassle?
Thanks
