Well with Heinz they breed the tomatoes and you dont buy the seeds you licence to grow them and Heinz take the whole crop at an agreed price. Every now and again some of their old pre-hybrid varieties escaped normally due to a farmer dying between receiving seeds and sowing them and those strains are going strong in enthusiast circles.
