Why do the caulk in between pool floor tiles look red, green, and blue and not white when looking through the water from the pool deck?

The water has it’s own color. It’s often very faint and you need several feet of it to notice but between the light passing all the way down to the bottom then all the way back out it usually picks up a blue tinge. Other colors might represent impurities like rust, chlorine, or algae.
