Why do the wood from the trees being cut take two years to dry out but Christmas trees are a fire hazard because of how quickly they dry out? What gives?

Even green wood burns. Otherwise forrest fires wouldn’t happen.

You just want dryer wood for a hotter, cleaner burn, however. This means more heat and less smoke.
