It always confused me. A hospital has an MRI or some other machine, and you hear they try to use it as little as possible to cut costs, because it costs them this or that amount per usage. But why would that be if they own it?

Maintenance, employee cost, supplies, HVAC, PM, housekeeping, benefits for employees… just off the top of my head.
Also, MRIs literally run 24/7 because they are so expensive to run the only way to NOT lose a fortune is to do as many scans as possible.
