Why do we finding eating some animals acceptable and not others? Why is this different in different cultures?

I’ve eaten horse meat a couple of times when I was in Europe and it looked and tasted just like beef.
Good question. Why don’t we eat dogs. If a chicken is eaten why not dogs. It’s the same thing
I’m not against people eating any time of meat. I think it is hypocritical. As long as they aren’t forcing me to eat any specific meat, idc what others eat.
The very first reason is what animals are there, which can be raised, bred, kept by human beings. Keeping lions is just not reasonable, keeping horses and cows (which are also domesticated in the meantime) is meaningful. hunter-gatherers probably eat anything they can catch, or that which they can catch most easily..
