What’s the purpose in nose bleeds and why do we have them. It seems pretty counterproductive to have what keeps us alive to just leave our body uncontrollably.

Same as every bleed. The coagulants in your blood stop whatever hole or cut you’ve gotten so you don’t bleed to death, the immune system (tries to) prevents you getting an infection
