Why do we rub our eyes when we’re tired?

When you’re tired your eyes are usually dry, rubbing them stimulates the glands that release fluid.
You also get droopy eyes when tired and the physical stimulation helps the muscles keep them open.
Finally there’s also a nerve connection between your eye muscles and heart that is stimulated by rubbing your eyes.
So there’s a few reasons.
