Why do we tend to close our eyes when we kiss?

When mummies and daddies kiss they are just enjoying the moment so much they close their eyes, like when you really like an ice cream you might close your eyes. But don’t you worry about that now, you are only five after all.
Because the best kisses are felt rather than seen. By closing your eyes and reducing sensory input, you have more attention to direct to your other senses – like taste and touch – that ordinarily play second fiddle.

Pursed lips look like butholes. Its a natural mammalian defence mechanism.
Serious answers aside, its just wierd to stare at each other whilst you kiss. If you’ve ever done it, you’ll know.
Short answer: because our vision goes blurry and uncomfortable at that distance.
Stick your hand in front of your face and try to count the creases.
Because that way we feel more of the kiss, we concentrate in it, the feeling and the touch
Fun fact, tigers don’t purr, when they want to show affection they close their eyes, as a sign of trust, since they predators and couldn’t avoid being attacked if they can’t see
They are literally trusting you their lives when displaying affection
