The deodorant and sunscreen might not be completely white, and then they both will collect dirt as you wear them making them dirtier than they should be. And since most white shirts are actually neon white (dyed with a blue florescent dye to make them appear whiter) this slightly less white sunscreen or deodorant will appear brown in comparison.

For the deodorant, most antiperspirant deodorants contain aluminum compounds. When they react with sweat, they create yellow stains . Also, the interaction between deodorant ingredients and the proteins in sweat can also cause stains.

Doesn’t matter why, I just re-whitened all my yellowed tees by soaking in a bucket with water & oxy-clean. It really worked, I am not paid by them, just a really satisfied user.
