Why do you need to sign on stuff?

I could sign differently every time it wouldn’t matter and someone could sign the same signature I use.

So why do we need to sign on stuff?

In Washington state we vote by mail-in ballot. When I first started voting, I would sign casually, and had one of my ballots rejected because it didn’t match what they had on file. I learned the hard way that sometimes it does matter.
