why doctors press harder (on a fracture) when you tell them it hurts?

Pretty much the title. I’ve had 2 fractures and every time I visited an Orthopedic, they’d press on the bone so hard I would tear up. I’ve always wondered why. Thanks!

A bone breaks with force and the bone aligns with force. Your doc aligns it and plasters with pressure so that it doesn’t look crooked once your bone is rejoined.

part of treatment for a fracture is assessing is realignment is gonna be necessary.

Yeah its gonna hurt, but its gonna hurt more if the bone is allowed to heal out of position.
