Why does a dibetic person become unresponsable when they have low blood sugar?

What I mean is that you might tell them an important piece of information but they forget it right away or similar things.

It would happen to *anyone* with very low blood sugar–it’s the fuel for the cells, and if there isn’t enough of it around the cells start starving and don’t perform efficiently. The reason it happens more often with Type 1 diabetics is because they inject insulin to absorb the sugar in their blood and prevent it going too high, and if they over-estimate how much they need they can suffer a sugar crash. Colleague of mine who’s Type 1 makes sure he always has a chocolate bar or something like that to hand so he can eat it if he feels a sugar crash coming on.
