Why does a person vomit if he/she sees a gory scene? What kind of defence mechanism is the body puttin up?

It’s because of adrenaline. When we see a gory body, our mind thinks “danger” and adrenaline is made to “prepare” the body for danger. One of the things adrenaline does is suppress appetite and digestion. Depending on how much you’ve eaten, how shocked you are, and probably other things, getting scared can basically make you throw up.
