When you see a gory scene, it provokes a fight of flight response in some people from deep down in our lizard brain from back in the caveman days. One outcome of fight or flight is to puke because our body is ejecting whatever we recently ate in order to be able to escape without it weighing us down or making us more slow than we want to be.
