If you’re talking about Accutane (isotretinoin) it’s because it stops skin secretions, without the liquid lubricating your skin it gets dry. Lips are no exception.

Acne is caused by skin microbiome dysbiosis moreso than excess secretions, so don’t be surprised if all your acne comes back as soon as you stop. (assuming you are asking about it because you take it, I might be wrong)

Most acne medications work on the idea of drying up any/all skin secretions. It’s mostly targeted at the oil (sebum) glands, but the change in pH also affects your lips.
