If the dye has a high iron content or the garment has rust stains, bleach oxidizes the iron and make the orange color.

Even Clorox admits this problem with bleach:

>>Skip the bleach for rust

>>Bleach is great for removing many stains, but not this one. In fact, bleach (or any product that contains sodium hypochlorite) is an oxidizer formulated at an alkaline pH, which provides the perfect conditions to oxidize iron and make a rust stain even worse.

Black and other colours can be a mixture of dyes. The bleach can decolourize some of the dyes, it may be the orange one is more resistant to bleach.

It is also possible that some dyes will react with bleach and turn orange.
