Why does blowing your nose both sides at the same time sometimes help evacuate more snot then doing just one side at a time?

If you’re pushing the whole tidal volume through only one side at a time, shouldn’t the pressure be greater then doing both sides at a time? Also shouldn’t the extra pressure escape trough the nostril with lower resistance? Yet it still works. I try blowing though only the blocked nostril and nothing happens but doing both I get results.

This is because the mucus might be stuck in the middle of your nose, where it’s harder to reach.

When yiu blow both sides of your nose at the same time, it can helo move the mucus around and make it easier to get rid of. This is because the air from both nostrils can work together yo push the mucus out of your nose.

(Now thinkin and writing about this, I want to blow my nose…)
