Water may be transparent, but it has the ability to change the way light interacts with the fabric of our clothes. When light hits dry clothing, it reflects off the surface and bounces back to our eyes. However, when clothing is wet, the water causes the light to scatter and refract, which makes the fabric appear darker to our eyes.
