I’m not a biologist or a doctor or anything like that but sometimes vomiting takes place so that your body can rid itself of the metabolic demands of digestion. Not having to process food means the limited resources you have can be used elsewhere.

Dehydration itself doesn’t tend to cause vomiting, but things that cause vomiting can cause dehydration.
