– Why does electric vehicle make way less noise than the ones running with gas?

Hi everyone, I’ve always wondered why electric vehicle are so silent, I guess it has to do with the type of engine that differs from vehicles running with gas but I really don’t know anything about mechanic sadly 😊

Gas vehicles have to move a lot of air around, from the intake, to the combustion process, to the exhaust. Unfortunately we do not have a way to move air silently. This is on top of the noise from the motor itself.

Electric vehicles just have the motor which moves but it doesn’t require any air movement.

EDIT: Gas vehicles also have the alternator which needs to move to recharge the battery.
