Soil can also contain some level of acidity. Theres also sand, rock, and dirt particles that act more like an exfoliant than moisturizer.

If the soil is wet, it will dehydrate hands by removing surface oils.

If soil is dry, it will dehydrate hands by absorbing surface oils and moisture.

If soil is abrasive, it will dehydrate hands by scrubbing off surface oils and damaging the skin.
