If i have millions of people typing things in a search bar per day, some of them are absolutely going to misspell something, when they do and they get incorrect results they will see their error and correct it. Search providers can take these search queries and see that someone searched “caef near me” then searched “cafe near me” you can look at these queries and say these are relatively similar, then search though many other queries where someone has used “caef” in their search and then another one where “caef” is replaced by “cafe” if this happens enough the search engine can guess that “caef” is supposed to be “cafe”. the search engine can then give you the “did you mean to search ‘cafe'”. When this happens if people don’t click it and instead go to sites that matched “caef” but not “cafe” then this suggestion can be removed.
