A Longer loop of henle means more surface area, and the filtrate spends longer in the loop. This means more opportunities for sodium (and therefore water) to be reabsorbed into the blood. Water follows sodium, so conserving water depends on the movement of sodium

Learning about the “Loop of Henle” only now, so I made a quick search and found this:
