Why does it hurt so much when you rub alcohol in a wound? 130 viewsJanuary 2, 2024 Question100.55K September 16, 2022 0 Comments I understand that when anything gets in a wound, it hurts, but why does alcohol hurt so much more than if I poked it with my finger? When exposed to alcohol, those receptors put out the same chemicals they do when they respond to heat. Which is why rubbing alcohol on a cut gives it a “burning” sensation.
