why does it look like slow motion if big objects fall down or collide? Even slower if we talk about astronomy.

When you see big buildings collapsing or some sort of scientifically correct simulation of planets/asteroids it always looks like in slow motion. I don’t understand why.

Because small and big things fall at the same speed, but big things have a lot longer distance to fall.

Example. Raise your hand straight up, and let it fall down. How long does it take for the hand to fall down? Like half a second? Okay, now picture a 100 meter tall giant doing the same. The proportions are the same, but the hand is not going to be falling 100 meters in half a second, because gravity accelerates big and small things at the same rate. So, relative to the objects size, yeah it’s going to look slower.
