Why do certain metals feel colder to the touch compared to other materials, even when they are at the same temperature?

because room temperature is lower than body temperature, this means whatever you touch at room temperature will conduct heat away from you, metal of course being a good conductor of heat will conduct heat away faster, making it seem colder initially until it reaches thermal equilibrium
