Why does old software get buggy when it hasn’t been updated for a while? Shouldn’t have the same amount of bugs as it was when that version was released?

On top of what others have said, there’s also the fact that using software for longer there’s more edge cases that get flexed that weren’t tested for.

So yes, the bug was always there, it just wasn’t known about during launch.
