To be clear, I’m not talking about an injury that draws blood. That would change taste due to the blood itself. I mean a small tongue bite or if you’re chewing and bite your cheek a little, but it doesn’t break the skin. There’s usually a flood of saliva that to me has a distinct taste and temperature. Is this due to some change in the saliva itself? If so what purpose does the change serve? Thanks!
