The lower pitch wub wub wub is just the flexibility of the metal but there are high pings from the metal wanting to twist or bend in a different direction but metal only wants to bend in one direction at a time so it has a snap when it flattens out and starts bending along a slightly different axis making a higher pitch noise starting when the metal is flat.

Some metals have a natural flexibility to them, to an extent, but the sound you are referring to is the deformed metal trying to snap back to its molecular alignment.

When you wiggle it back and forth, this creates waves, like when you splash water in a bath. The waves move through the metal making it bend and twist, and as it moves it pushes against the air around it, making vibrations. These vibrations are what we hear.
