It could be an indication of magnesium deficiency, poor circulation or a self soothing habit for boredom/anxiety.

Cause otherwise the utterly crippling anxiety slowly swells and gains mass until I collapse in on myself for a brief moment before completely rupturing into countless little pieces.

I do this a bunch when I’m super sleepy and need to stay awake. On the flip side, when I’m trying to fall asleep and I can’t, I end up shaking my leg to “rock” myself to sleep. Go figure.
